Student Loans – TFCU offers Federal Insured Student Loans;  the Stafford-subsidized and unsubsidized, and Parent Plus. If you are considering post-secondary education, see us for more information on how to apply for these loans. TFCU can fund these loans to make repayment easier at your credit union. Welcome to TruStar Federal Credit Union

Thank you for your interest in TruStar Federal Credit Union (TFCU). We look forward to becoming your family’s preferred financial institution. TFCU was founded in 1960  to serve the financial needs of the employees of Mando Paper Mill (now Boise Paper Solutions). The past 40 years and more have brought many changes to the credit union, including a federal community charter that allows us to offer membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Koochiching, Beltrami, Hubbard and Wadena Counties. What has not changed is our family atmosphere and our commitment to personal member service!

As a member-owned, not-for-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing quality  financial products and services. The volunteer Board of Directors is elected from and by our members to operate the credit union on the member’s behalf. Unlike other financial institutions that need to generate profits to satisfy stockholders, we return excess earning to our members in the following forms:

• Competitive dividend rates paid on savings and investment accounts,

• Competitive interest rates on loans,

• Low or no-cost products and services, and

• The addition of valuable improved or new products and services.

Our mission is to build valued relationships through brighter banking solutions.

Membership is Free and Lasts a Lifetime
Membership is available to you and your family at no cost. Once you join you may remain a member forever, even if you change jobs, relocate or retire.
The first account you open is a Share Savings Account. Twenty Five dollars of your initial deposit represents your “member share” and enables you to have full access to many benefits of membership and a vote at the annual meeting. Our products and services are designed to help you manage your personal financial affairs at the lowest possible cost. Our staff is committed to providing the personal attention you deserve.
